Returns & Refund Policy

We back the parts we sell. If something isn't right — wrong fit, changed plans, or a defect — here's exactly how returns, core charges and refunds work, in plain language.

01 30-Day Return Window

Most new, uninstalled parts can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Parts must be in resalable condition — uninstalled, unmodified, and in the original packaging with all hardware, instructions and tags.

A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is required before sending anything back. Returns received without an RMA may be delayed or refused.

Good to knowThe return window starts on the delivery date shown by the carrier, not your order date. Need a little longer? Call us — we work with fleets and shops on timing.

02 What You Can Return

The following are eligible for a standard return within the 30-day window:

  • New, in-stock catalog parts in unopened or resalable condition
  • Parts that were ordered in error (wrong number, duplicate, changed plans)
  • Items that don't fit your application, confirmed against our cross-reference
  • Unopened gasket sets, seals, bearings and small hardware

03 Non-Returnable Items

Because of how they're built or sold, the following generally cannot be returned for a standard refund (defect coverage still applies — see Warranty):

  • Built-to-order & custom performance parts
  • Special-order or drop-ship parts not normally stocked
  • Electrical components and sensors once the packaging is opened
  • Items installed, modified, painted, or showing signs of use
  • Gasket sets or seals that have been opened or partially used
  • Closeout / clearance items marked "Final Sale"

04 Core Charges & Returns

Many heads, kits and reman components carry a refundable core charge — a deposit you get back when you send us your old, rebuildable part. The core charge is listed on the product page and your invoice.

Cores that are cracked beyond repair, wrong casting, or missing major components may receive a reduced credit or be declined. We'll always reach out before adjusting a core refund.

05 How to Start a Return

Contact us for an RMA
Call or text (720) 445-6249 or email parts@jaksdiesel.com with your order number and the reason for return.

We email your RMA & label
You'll get an RMA number and return instructions. If the return is our error, the freight is on us.

Pack it like it shipped
Use the original packaging, protect machined surfaces, and write the RMA number on the outside of the box.

We inspect & refund
Once received and inspected (usually 2–4 business days), your refund or exchange is processed.

06 Refunds & Timing

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Once we inspect and approve the return, allow:

  • 2–4 business days for inspection after we receive the part
  • 3–7 business days for the credit to post, depending on your bank or card issuer

Original outbound shipping is non-refundable unless the return is the result of our error or a defective part. Refunds are issued for the price of the goods, less any applicable restocking fee (see below).

07 Damaged, Defective or Wrong Part

If your order arrives damaged, is defective, or we shipped the wrong item — that's on us, and we'll make it right fast at no cost to you.

  • Inspect freight shipments before signing — note any damage on the delivery receipt
  • Report shipping damage within 5 business days of delivery with photos
  • We ship the correct or replacement part — often before the return comes back
  • No restocking fee and prepaid return freight on our errors

08 Warranty vs. Returns

Returns cover changed minds, fitment and new-part condition within 30 days. Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship after install, for the full coverage period. They're handled differently — a part that failed in service is a warranty claim, not a return.

Restocking fees cover inspection, repackaging and re-shelving. We waive or reduce fees for trade and fleet accounts — ask your account rep.
